Systems of Equations

There are three different types of systems...

Consistent (System has solutions)

  Dependent - Infinitely many
  Independent - 1 Solution

Inconsistent (System has no solutions)

This system is DEPENDENT
  • Same slope
  • Same y intercept
  • SAME LINE!!!
Notice how there are two lines in this picture!  These two lines are dependent
